‘Moments in Dissent’ – Baptist History Lectures

On Thursday 18 May, the Centre for Baptist History and Heritage with the Baptist Historical Society, will host two lectures to mark the launch of a new, five-volume History of the Protestant Dissenting Traditions (Oxford University Press).  All are welcome.

5pm, ‘The Priesthood of Believers and English Dissent, 1688-1789: John Gill, Isaac Watts and Joseph Priestley’ by Professor Malcolm Yarnell, South Western Baptist Seminary, USA.

7:30pm, Reception for the launch of the first volume of the Oxford History of the Protestant Dissenting Traditions: The Nineteenth Century, edited by Timothy Larsen and Michael Ledger-Lomas.

8pm, ‘George MacDonald and the Victorian Crisis of Doubt’, by Professor Timothy Larsen, Wheaton College, USA.
