Conferences at Regent’s

Located in the heart of the city, Regent’s Park College aims to provide comfortable accommodation, excellent food and ‘great value for money’ in a convenient location. With bedrooms, teaching and conference rooms and a large dining hall we can offer a range of options for fully residential conferences as well as individual functions such as receptions and weddings.

The College was recently awarded a (maximum) 5 star rating by the City Environmental Health inspection system for all food outlets, hotels, etc in the city. Only a small percentage have achieved this accolade.

Accommodation
There are approximately 70 bedrooms available each with hand wash basins, central heating, tea and coffee facilities. Showers, baths and toilets are provided very nearby on each floor. Some rooms are in one, two or three bedroom flats with their own kitchens and bathrooms, ensuring flexibility for conference organisers. The rooms are comfortably furnished and provide a cost-effective way of having a conference in Oxford. Wireless internet access is available throughout the College site.

Other facilities
There are 3 seminar rooms (able to accommodate 60, 20, and 20 people) and other large rooms that can be used for conference meetings, including a modern chapel which seats 80. The Helwys Hall, which seats up to 120, serves as the dining room but can also be used for weddings and other social functions. We have available flip charts, OHP and a Data Projector (linked to a laptop computer). There is also a launderette and television room if required.

Meals
Meals are normally served in Helwys Hall as follows:

· Breakfast 8:00-8:30 a.m.
· Lunch 1:00 p.m.
· Dinner 7:00 p.m.

These times can be adjusted to suit the programme requirements of conference delegates, as can menus. Buffets can be provided in one of the seminar rooms.

It is possible to arrange receptions, special dinners and banquets for which a list of suggested menus can be provided.

Availability
Conference facilities are only available outside of University terms (3 terms of 8 weeks each year).

Exact dates of the vacations vary from year to year, but normally include:

  • About three weeks around Christmas – mainly December
  • About four weeks around Easter normally from mid-March to mid-April

Travel to and from Oxford
There are good transport services to Oxford from all over the UK (see ‘How to find us’ below), so we advise delegates to arrive by train (about 15 minutes walk from the station) or other public transport (the coach station is about 10 minutes walk away) whenever they can. We have no parking available at the College.

Because of our very central location, getting around Oxford is best achieved on foot, with many of the city’s major places of interest only a few minutes walk away.
