The Revd Dr Antony Clarke

Tutorial Fellow in Pastoral Studies and Community Learning

I am a Baptist Minister, having trained here at Regent’s Park after a first degree in classics, and I have had pastorates on the borders of East London and here in Oxford. At College I share in overseeing of our ministerial formation programme, am Course Director for the BTh Suite of Courses, and also liaise with churches within a wide geographical area, seeking to use the resources of College to encourage leaning and training in ministry and mission for the whole church. I am a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, a church plant that meets in a school in Thame, and am a Trustee of the Southern Counties Baptist Association, moderating their Leadership and Ministerial Development Strategy Group.

My research has sought to bring together New Testament Studies and Systematic Theology within a pastoral setting, and within College and beyond I teach in all three areas. In particular I have interests in the Gospel of Mark, questions of divine suffering, and Baptist life and practice.
