Saptarshi Mallick earned his PhD from the University of Calcutta, specializing in nineteenth century cultural studies, with a special emphasis on the life and works of Rev. Dr. William Carey D.D.

His most recent books are Connecting Spaces: The Travelogues and Letters of Lady Abala Bose (Routledge, 2024) and Finding Philosophers in Global Fiction: Redefining the Philosopher in Multi-cultural Contexts (Bloomsbury, 2024). He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of American Studies, University of Graz, Austria. His current research focuses on the writings by Baptist women in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
