School Visits
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for in-person school visits to Regent’s Park College for a full day of talks, workshops and activities for pupils in Years 12 – 13. A typical visit to Regent’s runs from 10:00 – 15:00 (including a free lunch in our Hall!) to be planned in consultation with your school. We aim to be as flexible as possible on session content and schedule, in order to accommodate your needs.
As Regent’s is a small College, there is a limit of 20 pupils per visit. You are welcome to arrange multiple visits.
A typical programme for the day would include:
Morning
Arrival
Oxford University Explained. This presentation introduces pupils to the University of Oxford and covers the courses and colleges, the application process, financial support available at the University and practical ways in which pupils can engage with their chosen subjects outside the classroom.
Making a competitive application to Oxford University. This session covers the application process in more detail, taking pupils through the various stages – personal statements, admissions tests, interviews – and provides top tips about what Oxford looks for in potential applicants.
Q&A with a Student Ambassador. Led by current student ambassadors, this session allows pupils to find out what life is really like as an Oxford student, with plenty of opportunities for any and all questions.
Lunch
A free lunch is provided for visiting pupils and teachers in our very own Helwys Hall, served alongside Regent’s students. There will be vegetarian and vegan options. Please let us know of any other dietary requirements.
Afternoon
Tour of Regent’s Park College. Led by one of our student ambassadors, the tour is a great chance for pupils to get a feel for the college and see some of the spaces where students spend their time studying and living.
Additional sessions.
There are a variety of afternoon sessions to choose from, which might include:
