The conference was opened by the Dean of the Law Faculty Prof John Armour and welcomed two judges from the European Court of Human Rights, UN Special Rapporteurs, United Nations Officials, the Private Secretary of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, lawyers, policy makers and academics from the UK and overseas. The event culminated with a Gala dinner at the Oxford Union Society and a key address by Sir Malcolm Evans at the iconic debating chamber of the Oxford Union.
