Andreas E. Masvie is a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) working on the intersection of political philosophy and theology. Masvie recently submitted his DPhil thesis, in which he examines and develops Alasdair MacIntyre’s account of civic friendship in critical conversation with Plato, Aristotle, and Augustine. He intends to continue working with MacIntyre’s political philosophy to explore and grapple with issues pertaining to politics in modernity, with a special focus on virtue theory, and typically in connection to theology. He also expects to make use of both the classical and Christian deposits.
Masvie has previously worked as a political journalist, commentator, essayist, and cultural critic. He holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics.
