Meet the students who will be calling alumni during the Regent’s Telethon in June!

Date: 6/06/2022

Pip | BA Geography

My name is Pip and I am a second year geographer at Regent’s Park College. I study both human and physical geography, and am currently planning my dissertation on the use of public space in urban areas. My personal interest is in transport, particularly in policy surrounding major transport infrastructure projects across the UK. I am an outreach and access ambassador for the School of Geography and the Environment; I think this is important to improve accessibility for students who wish to study Geography.

I am very much looking forward to taking part in the telethon and talking to alumni as I am interested to know what life is potentially like after leaving Regent’s, and what sort of opportunities lie ahead. I am also excited to discuss current Regent’s life with alumni.

Katie | BA Geography

I’m Katie and I’m a second year Geography student. When I’m not studying, I love to play hockey; I play for the University team and have competed in Varsity as well as being my team’s social secretary. I am also really engaged with sustainability and climate change;  I am this year’s E&E rep as well as a member of Oxford Climate Society and Oxford Climate Justice Campaign. To action my principles, I have worked at Carbon Codes, a start-up aiming to incentivise sustainable eating out as well as being a “Green editor” at The Oxford Student newspaper. I am so excited to be a part of the Regent’s telethon this year and to engage with and share experiences with alumni about life during and after college!

Charlotte | BA Theology and Religion

I’m Charlotte and I am a second year Theology student. On top of my studies, I am involved in the drama society at Oxford, producing, acting, and marketing for various productions. I am also involved in the Women’s University Lacrosse team and have competed in Varsity over the past two years. I enjoy contributing to the student life in college as I was JCR Secretary in my first year and am now JCR President. I am really looking forward to hearing about alumni’s experience of college and what the world outside of Regent’s is like!

Jack | BA Geography

I’m Jack, a first year Geography student.   I am the Vice President of Oxford Photography Society, Junior Social Sec for LGBTQ+ Society and I write for the Cherwell Student Newspaper. I am particularly interested in social justice, diplomacy and journalism and hope to pursue these in my career. I also have a keen interest in current affairs and politics. I love the fact Regent’s is such a small and close community.  It’s  exciting to be able to speak to alumni about their experiences and see what potentially lies ahead, while reinforcing our sense of community and ensuring its longevity.

Aikaterini | BA English

My name is Aikaterini, and I’m a second year studying English Language and Literature at Regent’s Park College. Outside of our college community, I’m involved with editing one of the sections of ‘Cherwell’, as well as writing blog posts for ‘That Oxford Girl’. I am looking forward to getting to know more Regent’s alumni and hearing all the amazing projects that they’ve embarked on since graduating.

Roisin | BA Religion and Oriental Studies

I am a third year Religion and Arabic student. I’m interested in art and curation, and hoping to pursue a Master’s in Art History. I’m also passionate about outreach at Oxford, and have been involved in access events such as summer schools and bridging programs throughout my degree. I’m looking forward to hearing about experiences past students had at Regent’s, and finding out where their lives have taken them since.

Courtney | BA Geography

I’m Courtney and I’m a first year geographer here at Regent’s. My academic interests are in sustainability as well as ecology.  So far as my extra-curricular interests go, I enjoy crocheting, going out as well as attempting to learn languages; the current attempt is in Spanish. I look forward to speaking to you all and I can’t wait to hear about your time at Regent’s to see what has changed. I am also interested in how life was after you had left college and if you have any advice that you could offer me and the other undergraduates.
