Date: 19/05/2021

We are delighted to announce that the College’s new Chaplain, Head of Welfare and Fellow in Theology from 1 September 2021 will be the Revd Beth Allison-Glenny.

Beth is a practical theologian, currently being the Baptist Union of Great Britain’s Public Issues Enabler. In this role she supports colleagues and liaises with ecumenical partners on matters of public theology including peace and justice issues. Before this role Beth was minister of John Bunyan Baptist Church, Cowley, and Minister in Training at Market Bosworth Free Church. Beth is a theology graduate of St Andrews University, and studied the MTh at Regent’s while preparing for ministry. Beth is married to Rob and they have two young boys.

Beth says, “I’m delighted to be returning to Regent’s to become Chaplain. Regent’s has always had a special place in my heart. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the College community and working with everyone as we continue to develop Regent’s as a place of inclusive community, where all can thrive amidst life’s challenges.”

The College Principal, Dr Rob Ellis, comments, “This is an important appointment, with a number of important changes in College and the rebuilding tasks which will be necessary as we emerge from pandemic. Beth offered an exciting and compelling vision for the Chaplain’s role with her passion for pastoral and welfare issues, as well as for creative and engaging worship. We are delighted that Beth will be joining the College team.”
