The Elisha Project – Theological Colleges Environment Network

An ecumenical project with input from the Centre for Baptist Studies

The Elisha Project, run by the Theological Colleges Environment Network (TCEN) is a yearlong national initiative to resource and empower a new generation of environmental theology educators for theological educational institutions across the country. Running from January 2027 to January 2028, it will bring together early-career theologians, church leaders, and scientists, with mid- and later-career professionals for a programme of conferences, webinars, mentoring, and assignments.

Dr Tim Middleton, Tutorial Fellow in Theology and Director of the Centre for Baptist Studies, is contributing to leadership of the project alongside Dr Martin Hodson, Revd Margot Hodson, and Dr Grace Milton.

The opening and closing conferences will be hosted at Regent’s Park College.

The initiative is part of the Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science (ECLAS) Science for Seminaries programme at Durham University. This follows on from a previous project funded by ECLAS and hosted at Regent’s on Science and Religion in the Baptist World. ECLAS and the Science for Seminaries grant programme are funded by the John Templeton Foundation.

Further information, including how to get involved, can be found in the TCEN press release. Additional information is also available on the ECLAS website.
