Congratulations to Regent’s Offer Holders – Here’s what you can expect!
Date: 13/01/2026
If you’re reading this story, you’ve probably received an offer to study at Regent’s Park College. Firstly, congratulations! This is an amazing achievement, a testament to your hard work, and you should be very proud. We are delighted to celebrate with you.
Whether Regent’s was your first choice, or you’re meeting us for the first time, we hope that you will soon begin to picture yourself as part of our College community. Regent’s is known for being a warm, friendly, welcoming, inclusive, supportive place to live and learn. We are also academically rigorous, with incredibly supportive tutors who want to push you to achieve your best, with a truly interdisciplinary research life. We very much hope to welcome you here in the coming academic year.
So, what can you expect at Regent’s?
Hear directly from Regent’s about our special community! ⬇️
As one of Oxford’s smaller communities, Regent’s offers a close-knit experience in which students are known as individuals, supported as people, and encouraged to flourish in whatever ways they want to – academically, socially, in sports and in arts. You will be part of a diverse and friendly student body, with opportunities to form lasting friendships. Because of our small size, undergraduates often form friendships across subjects and year-groups. If you drop into the JCR (Junior Common Room), there will always be a face you recognise and a friend to chat with.
College life extends well beyond studying. From shared meals in Helwys Hall, Formals every Tuesday and Friday, regular JCR events (like Brew, a longstanding tradition of free tea and biscuits in the JCR twice daily), a rapidly flourishing and expanding musical life, plenty of sports teams (from rowing to netball to hockey), student societies and opportunities for worship and reflection. There are many ways to get involved and make Regent’s your home.
At the same time, as a member of Regent’s Park College you are fully part of the wider University of Oxford community. You will have access to University-wide societies, sports clubs, performances, lectures, and social events, and will mix with students from across Oxford through your course, shared interests, and student activities. Many Regent’s students value this balance: the warmth and familiarity of a small college, alongside the breadth, energy, and opportunities of one of the world’s great universities.
Academic Life and Student Support
At Regent’s, academic life is characterised by tailored, individual teaching, thoughtful discussion, and strong personal support. Tutorials and classes are small and interactive, allowing you to explore ideas in depth and develop confidence in your thinking and writing. As a member of the University of Oxford, you will also have access to its libraries, lectures, societies and world-class resources.
Regent’s has a vibrant, exciting, and often cutting-edge research life. You will have the opportunity to attend a variety of seminars and talks, and engage directly with our academics in both formal and informal settings. Don’t be surprised to queue up for lunch beside your tutors, or bump into them walking down the corridor.
Alongside your tutors, you will be supported by the College’s welfare team – from Peer Supporters, to our Welfare Lead, Laura and Head of Welfare, Beth – who are all there to ensure you are well supported throughout your time here.
We look forward to welcoming you to Regent’s!
Congratulations one again on receiving your offer. We know how much work has gone into reaching this point, and we are excited about the possibility of welcoming you to the Regent’s community. Hoping to see you at an Offer Holder Day soon!
