Centre for Baptist History and Heritage

The Aims of the Centre are:


To deepen an awareness and appreciation of Baptist history and heritage

To underpin such study by relating it to a theology of history

To develop research and scholarship in these areas

To relate Baptist history to Baptist life and principles today



The Centre pursues its aims by:

Providing college membership for students studying for research degrees in related areas
Offering research facilities to visiting scholars
Organising lecture series, seminars and consultations of international significance
Exploiting the facilities of the Angus Library at the highest academic level
Appointing leading specialists as advisers to develop an international network of distinguished Baptist historians
Appointing Fellows and Research Students of the Centre
Developing publications in cooperation with others to forward these aims
